“We have come with expectations,” says a reluctant Gh Nabi Azad when media persons sought comments from him over All Party Delegation’s visit to Kashmir.

Azad is part of 30-member delegation which is led by Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh. The delegation reached SKICC around 11:30 AM where it is expected to meet “cross section of people”.

“We have to meet and listen to people of Kashmir,” Azad, who is former Chief Minister of J&K and currently leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha said. “We have come with expectations.”

No other member was ready to talk to media, however, Hyderabad MP, Assadudin Owaisi, told media that he wants to meet “everybody”. “But I don’t know who has been invited,” he said.

This is third of visit Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Kashmir since mass uprising was triggered by the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016.

At least 74 civilians have been killed in CRPF, RR and police action since July 09 and over 10500 other persons have been injured.

On Sunday itself, at least two hundred people have been injured in South and central Kashmir in clashes between protestors and CRPF, RR and police.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an all-party meeting in New Delhi on August 12, 2016 where a unanimous resolution was passed that “Kashmir is integral part of India”.

After All Party Delegation winds up its two-day visit to Kashmir, Singh earlier said that, another meet of all-parties will be called in new Delhi to deliberate over the issues.
