Two massive pro-freedom rallies were held in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that a massive unity-cum-pro-freedom rally was held at Aaratth village of Budgam district.

“It started at 10:30 Am and will conclude at 5:30 PM,” a participant said.

He added that the rally was addressed by a local Syed Ali Geelani led Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader besides some other prominent personalities. “It was completely peaceful,” he said.

The locals had made preparations for the rally from some days ago.

“The participants were served with tehri (turmeric rice),” the participant informed.

Meanwhile, reports reaching from Baramulla district said that a peaceful pro-freedom rally was held at Eidgah Warpora area of Sopore Town amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

“Thousands of people from many villages of Zaingair attended the pro-freedom rally,” an eye witness said.

The speakers urged upon the people to be peaceful while holding pro-freedom protests.
