All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) Thursday said the on-going mass uprising had entered third month with peoples’ demand for Right to Self Determination getting shriller by the day as children, youth and elderly people, men and women, all are hitting the streets “to attract the attention of the international community and demanding resolution of the vexed Kashmir issue”.
“While the arrogant ruling regime through its military might had unleashed tyranny and torture on people and resistance leadership to crush their resistance movement, writing yet another black chapter of blood and gore in Kashmirs history of freedom struggle,” the spokesperson of the Hurriyat Conference amalgam said this evening in a statement.
The spokesperson said, “how unfortunate was it that during the past three days, two more youth were killed mercilessly and 750 civilians injured in the indiscriminate firing by the government forces while 100 persons were arrested and more than 1000 residential houses damaged in nine districts of Kashmir displaying the barbaric face of the state.”
“On Thursday too, government forces used excessive force to deal with peaceful protestors in Tral, Shopian, Ajar and various villages and towns across Kashmir, resulting in injuries to dozens, which was condemnable,” the spokesperson added.
Reminding people and leadership of their responsibilities, the spokesperson said, “at this sensitive time in the resistance movement, when so much has and is being sacrificed it is incumbent upon people and resistance leaders to exhibit unity and demonstrate consistency and be very cautious of the conspiracies being hatched by the various agencies of the oppressor.”
