J&K Government on Saturday foiled ‘Kulgam Chalo’ call by unified resistance camp by imposing stringent curfew.
Reports said that a heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces was made in the area to thwart the march called by resistance groups.
Barricades were erected at all the entry and exit points of Kulgam to prevent people from assembling for the march, reports added.
Meanwhile, at least twenty people were injured on Saturday after forces including police and CRPF men allegedly foiled a pro-freedom rally in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Reports said forces resorted to pellet firing and tear smoke shelling to break up the rally in Chakoora and Harmain villages of the district.
Over 20 civilians were injured in the subsequent clashes, reports said.
“At least four injured were treated in PHC Harmain,” health sources said.
