Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Monday strongly condemned the arrest of its District Baramulla chief (Ameer) Mohammad Shaban Dar and termed it as ‘undemocratic’ and ‘unjustified’.
In a statement issued this evening, Jama’at said, police and other SOG forces raided the house of Mohammad Shaban Dar of Mazbugh Sopore after pre-dawn prayers today and took him away to an “undisclosed location”.
Meanwhile, the statement added, first class magistrate directed police to release him Spokesperson of Jama’at-e-Islami Advocate Zahid Ali who was lodged in sub-jail Kothibagh.
“Instead of letting him free, police detained him in another concocted and baseless case which was lodged in Batamaloo police station,” Jama’at alleged.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir termed this “atrocious” behaviour of forces ‘undemocratic’ and ‘unjustified’ and urges all human rights bodies to come forward and take strong notice of human rights violations in Kashmir by New-Delhi.
