Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani on Monday termed the arrest of resistance leaders, activists and youth as “unjustified and dissolute”.

He condemned the slapping of Public Safety Act on Hurriyat Conference (g) chief spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar and JKLF’s Noor Mohammad Kalwal. The duo was sent to and lodged in Kotbalwal jail Jammu.

“Pro-freedom leaders and activists won’t succumb to arbitrary measures and will continue to fight for the rights of people and against forces occupation till their last breath,” Geelani said in a statement issued by APHC-g this evening.

“Continuous detention of ailing leader Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has taken a toll on his health, which is deteriorating with each passing day,” Geelani said.

Lamenting over authorities for continuous detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Adv Zahid Ali, human rightist activist Khurram Pervaz, Geelani said, “despite tall claims about Insaaniyat, Jamhooriyat and battle of ideas, New Delhi and its puppets are doing against all ethics and international norms.”

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (m) spokesperson expressed grief and sorrow on the death of class 7 student Khushboo Jan of Shopian who died due to forces attack on protestors in Shopian and strongly condemned it.

The spokesperson also condemned the slapping of PSA on Noor Hurriyat Conference (g) chief spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar, and JKLF’s Mohammad Kalwal.
