Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday morning chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) over the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir post militant attack.
NSA Ajit Doval, Director of Intelligence Bureau, RAW Chief, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar, Minister of State in Prime Minister Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh and other senior MHA and MoD officials were in attendance.
Notably, Union Home Secretary reached Srinagar this morning to review the Kashmir security situation.
Even on Monday, the Union Home Minister, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and top security brass of the country had met to review the security situation of Kashmir which is witnessing a massive anti-India uprising triggered by the killing of popular Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016.
In one of the deadliest attack on army in recent times, at least 18 army men lost their lives and over 20 others got injured post the militant strike on an army camp close to the headquarters of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla district.
Director General of Military operation Lt Gen Ranbir Singh has said that the four suspected militants, who attacked the military base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri, belonged to Pakistan’s banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
