Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, Thursday stressed the officers to gear up for time-bound completion of all pending developmental projects in the district.

He said this while reviewing the developmental activities of district Baramulla at a meeting here.

The Minister stressed on the officers to work tirelessly to achieve the target to overcome the loss suffered during the abnormal situation over the past two months, an official spokesperson said this evening.

Addressing the meeting, Abdul Haq asked the district administration that no stone should be left unturned in realizing the goals and targets envisaged in annual plan so as to ensure maximum benefits to the people.

He praised the officers of the Baramulla district for discharging their duty.

Stating that the valley’s developmental activities were effected owing to prevailing situation, the Minister said the officers need to gear up and  work in close coordination with the people so that the pending projects are completed at an earliest.

The Minister directed the officers to monitor the attendance of their employees so that the daily based problems and issues of the public are redressed.

He also directed the officers that the District board decisions should be implemented in letter and spirit.

The meeting took a comprehensive review of the progress made in various projects and decisions of the last board meeting and took stock of sectoral, physical and financial achievements registered in the District Plan 2016-17.

The meeting was informed that the district has an approved budget of Rs 231.36 crore and that the district has been able to spend 61 percent of the available budget of Rs 46.87 crore till date.

During the meeting, Abdul Haq directed the officers to provide all the requisite facilities for observing Muharram, particularly in Shia dominated areas of the district.

He said additional arrangements of drinking water, first aid, power supply should be made available in these areas so that people do not face any in-convenience.

The meeting was attended by legislators, Javeed Hassan Beige, Mohammad Abass Wani and Yawer Dilawer Mir, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash and other district officers.
