Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has invited suggestions from the general public to conceive and formulate a “people-centric proposal” for the Smart City for Srinagar.
According to a notification issued by the Commissioner SMC, Srinagar is participating in the “Smart City challenge” in the next round in which 100 cities are competing across India, an official spokesperson said on Friday evening.
“Voyants Solutions Pvt Ltd has been engaged as Consultant for preparing the Smart City proposal for Srinagar,” the SMC Commissioner said and added, “the Smart City Mission involves improving the quality of life by developing people-centric services targeting core infrastructure and service delivery through application of smart solutions.”
“The participation of the general public is perceived to be the most vital element of the challenge. As such citizens, NGOs and social forums are invited to participate wholeheartedly and contribute their valuable suggestions and ideas (in individual or group capacity) which shall form the basis for articulating the city vision and priorities,” the Commissioner added.
