Four people from South Kashmir including a policeman were booked under contentious Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kathua Jail while four minors were lodged in Juvenile Jail from past 24 days.

Police sources told news agency CNS that during different nocturnal raids in Karimabad in Pulwama district all but eight people including 4 minors were arrested for their alleged involvement in stone-pelting.

Sources added that an SPO working in J&K police was also arrested and booked under PSA.

The four residents of Karimabad were shifted to Kathua Jail under Public Safety Act and were identified as SPO Rafi Pandit, son of late Muhammad Abdullah; Muhammad Shafi, son of Assadullah; Muhammad Arif Dar, son of Ghulam Hasan and Umar Ishaq Bhat.

Four minors from the same village were also arrested and shifted to Juvenile Jail.

Police sources identified them as Qaisar Ahmed Kumhar, son of Abdul Qadir; Nisar Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Rashid; Latif Ahmed Mir, son of Bashir Ahmed and Jahangir Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Muhammad.

Police also arrested four persons from Gadroo village of Pulwama while another youth Feroz Ahmed Bhat, son Abdul Qadir from Sarnoo village of Puwama was also shifted to Kathua Jail under Public Safety Act.
