Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president and MLA Langate Er Rashid Thursday said that those who questioned his “objections about authenticity of surgical strikes” have “got answer”, as former DGMO Vinod Bhatia has “exposed lies” of Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjay Walla of “carrying out surgical strikes inside” Pakistan in 2011.

In a statement issued this evening, Rashid said, “though Surjay Walla had mentioned the dates of such strikes to support his claim but former DGMO has made his position very odd and it should not be difficult for anyone to conclude that both Congress and BJP have been making claims of these so-called surgical strikes to divert attention from J&K issue.”

The MLA Langate said that one must “not wonder” if Congress on retaining power in future may announce that the “claims of surgical strikes made by BJP government on 29th September 2016 were not true”.

He also expressed his serious concern and anguish over holding of ‘Panth Sanchalan’ rally by RSS in Doda and warned state government of dire consequences if it doesn’t stop its “appeasement policy” towards Hindu radical forces in Jammu region.

“There is no logic and justification to the fact that respectable citizens of one community are being booked in fake cases, humiliated in religious places and raided day and night, but the fringe elements of another community are at liberty to carry out processions with lathis and other objectionable materials. May the RSS controlled administration explain that what was the purpose of displaying lathis and raising objectionable slogans,” he asked.

Rasheed asked state government to “introspect in its own court of conscience and morality” that if it has no problem to allow RSS an objectionable procession, on what grounds does it humiliate him as an elected public representative whenever he proposes to visit Jammu region including Chenab valley.

He added that even after intervention of J&K High Court he was not allowed to attend marriage ceremony in Kishtwar, “how could communal forces be given a free hand to do whatever they want”. “Government of India is digging grave of its own interests by discriminating between the citizens on account of their religion.”

He reminded Ms Mehbooba Mufti of her promises made from time to time with Muslims of Jammu province.
