At least three suspected militants died when they attacked an army installation in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports coming here said that an army camp in Langate area was attacked around 5 AM on Thursday. Two army men were injured in the early morning encounter which is still under way.
“At around 5 AM, militants opened firing on an army camp at Langate,” reports said. “The army soldiers retaliated and three of the suspected militants were killed.”
Srinagar based defence spokesperson, Rajesh Kalia, told Kashmir Life, “we have recovered three dead bodies along with three AK 47 rifles.” He, however, said that the bodies are yet to be identified as the operation is “still under way”.
Reports quoting army official said that the slain militants were wearing Army combat uniform.
