Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Wednesday said that the health condition of its incarcerated chairperson was “deteriorating” in Baramulla sub-jail.
In a statement issued this evening, the DeM secretary general said, “the cell in which Aasiyeh Andrabi is being kept in is in a very unhygienic condition and there is no proper sanitation facility available in the cell.”
DeM requested people to pray for the health of the top woman resistance leader, Aasiyeh Andrabi.
Meanwhile, the DeM secretary general, Nahida Nasreen said, “a reign of terror has been unleashed in different parts of the valley especially south Kashmir.”
“People irrespective of their ages are being arrested and lodged in different jails without judicial remand,” she said. “This is being done to break the resolve of the people to fight against the ruthless occupation.”
Nahida further claimed in the statement, “the Special Task Force (STF) of Jammu and Kashmir police today tried to set ablaze a school building in Bugam area of Kulgam district. However, people chased them and got hold of one STF personnel.”
She said, “people are demanding release of boys in his exchange. Clashes are still going on in the area.”
She further said that police today foiled the Frisal ‘Chalo’ by “declaring shoot at sight” orders in the area. “Early in the morning police arrived in the area and sealed all the entry and exit points and declared shoot at sight orders.”
“The Jammu and Kashmir police was acting as a murderous force,” she said.
Meanwhile, the personal secretary of Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, Sofi Fehmeeda, has been lodged in Rambagh police station along with another worker of DeM.
Fehmeeda was arrested on October 4, 2016 (Tuesday) along with Aasiyeh Andrabi in Srinagar. “However Fehmeeda has not been produced for a judicial remand since then,” Nasreen said.
