J&K Police on Thursday evening issued a statement detailing the situation in Kashmir today.
The statement is being reproduced here verbatim for larger public interest
With hustle and bustle returning to the Srinagar streets and other towns, the situation across Kashmir remained peaceful today.
There was no report of any untoward incident from anywhere till filing of this report.
There was no curfew anywhere in the valley. However, adequate deployment was made in sensitive areas.
Today also some Muharram processions were taken out in Budgam and Srinagar.
The roads were abuzz with constant increase in traffic in Srinagar city as well as in the towns across the valley.
Shops were opened and huge number of vendors was on the streets.
The drive launched by the police to nab the miscreants and the people involved in the disruption of normal activities continued and during past 24 hours 52 more such persons have been arrested.
