At least four personnel of Seema Shashtra Bal (SSB) were injured in a suspected militant attack in Zakura area of Srinagar on late Friday evening.
PRO CRPF told Kashmir Life said that SSB personnel were withdrawing from their duties when the suspected militants attacked them.
“Four SSB personnel have been injured,” the PRO said.
He added that the firing took place outside a J&K Bank office near Petrol Pump in Zakura.
Local residents of Zakura said that they heard scores of gunshots which created panic in the area.
There is a CRPF camp situated in Zakura Industrial Estate which was alerted after the attack. “They started blowing whistles at each other,” locals said.
Sources said that reinforcement has been rushed to the area and search operation launched.
“We have cordoned some houses in the area after the attack,” the PRO CRPF said.
