A day after independent lawmaker Er Rashid criticised former chief minister Omar Abdullah for his “tweet missiles” during foreign trips, the latter was seen posing for roving cameras in Himachal Pradesh.

Omar is attending a three-day Khushwant Singh Literature Festival-2016 in Kasauli town.

The festival was declared open on Friday by Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh.

In one of the panel discussion, Omar joined Rahul Pandita and author-historian Dilip Simeon about the crisis in Kashmir with the topic being “Kashmir: Cry the Beloved Country.”

As senior Abdullah – Dr Farooq – sought resumption of talks with Islamabad and Hurriyat Conference in a Srinagar presser, miles away Omar in Kasauli debate said that the need to recognise Kashmir as a political problem is a pre-requisite to finding answers.

“There is a need to first accept that Kashmir is a political problem. Only then can solutions be found,” Omar asserted.
