SRINAGAR: Senior National Conference Leader Ali Mohmmad Sagar along with three other family members have tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Thursday.

“It is requested to all my friends and well wishers to pray for my family as 4 of our family members tested positive for COVID’19 today including my father. Do remember in prayers & May allah keep all of us under his protection ( Aameen),” his son Salman Sagar tweeted.

NC leader was recently released from detention after Jammu and Kashmir High Court quashed the Public Safety Act against him.

Prayers Pour

As the news spread, the social media was flooded by the prayers and wishes for the Sagar. National Conference Vice President and former chief minister, Omar Abdullah wished them a speedy recovery. “Wishing Sagar Sahib & the other members of your family a complete & speedy recovery. Allah Shifa de, ameen.”

Shia leader and former minister Imran Reza Ansari wrote “You are always in our prayers bhai. Hope the family recovers fast with the grace of Almighty.”

In his message, senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar wrote, “Wishing a speedy recovery to Sagar saheb and all the affected family members. Shifa e kaamil.”

“That’s a sad news. Our prayers with all of you. You guys need to stay strong. These are tough times and allah will help you come out of it soon. Inshallah,” wrote senior advocate Syed Faisal Qadri.

As of now, J&K has 7849 cases, out of which 2760 are Active Positive, 4974 have recovered and 115 have died.
