Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today made an extensive tour of the district to take stock of the facilities available to the general public following the fresh snowfall.

Accompanied by SSP Anantnag, Zubair Ahmad Khan, SE R&B, SDM Dooru and other concerned officers, the DC visited Islamabad town, Achabal, Larkipora, Dooru and Verinag,

With respect to snow clearance, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that snow has been cleared from all main roads and concerned authorities are activated and snow from uncovered and remote areas will be cleared soon.

Later the DC chaired a meeting with the officers at Dooru and directed all the officers to ensure all basic amenities to the people. He also visited SDM and Tehsil office, besides inspected various health institutions of the district and interacted with the patients and attendants. He directed the CMO and the concerned BMOs to facilitate ensure better healthcare, free medicines and heating arrangements in the hospital,

The DC directed AD FCS&CA to ensure supply of ration in remote areas so that people do not face any inconvenience in light of the harsh winter conditions.

During the visit, delegations of Trade Associations, Auqaf and civil society met the DC and submitted their memorandums. Deputy Commissioner assured them that their genuine issues will be taken care of.
