Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today visited Kund, Waltengoo, Devsar, Pahloo and other remote villages of the district to take stock of the facilities available to the people following the recentsnowfall.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people at different places. AtWaltengoo, he directed the concerned authorities to ensure all essential services and commodities to thepeople so that they do not face any difficulty in view of harsh weather conditions.    Pertinently the various families of Waltengoo Nad have been shifted to the rescue shelter sheds equipped with heating, electricity and other arrangements at Naboo.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited PHC Devsar, BDO Office, Municipal Committee Devsar and other Government establishments. During his visit to MC Devsar he found employees unauthorizedly absent from the duty and directed for the suspension of two employees of the concerned MC.

He also directed the concerned BMOs to ensure better healthcare facilities, heating arrangements and availability of free medicines in the health institutions.

The DC was informed that snow has been cleared from all major roads and work is going on to clear snow from lanes and by-lanes in full swing. While as power supply has been restored in the district.
