Acting upon the directions of State Pollution Control Board, Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib on Friday sealed King’s Hotel involved in grave violation of environmental norms here at Katra.
The hotel has been found guilty of not installing Sewage Treatment Plant, according to the Environment Protection Act 1986 and were therefore sealed in presence of District Pollution Control Board Officer.
The owners of the hotel had also been served notices before the closure of their hotel. Moreover, the electricity supply to the hotel has been snapped and the hotel shall be deregistered by the tourism department.
The hotel shall remain sealed till the time they comply by the laid environmental norms and install the requisite treatment plant.
