District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Hashmat Ali Khan Saturday visited Sonamarg to take the first hand appraisal of road clearance which was blocked due to recent snowfall.
During the visit DDC reviewed the progress on the snow clearance work and interacted with the officials of Beacon who are maintaining the road. He directed the concerned to speed up the road clearance work so that the road is cleared and thrown open for traffic at the earliest.
The officials informed him that the road upto Sonamarg will be thrown open by Saturday evening. He was also informed that the snow clearance work is also apace on both sides of the Zojilla which will be thrown open for traffic soon.
