SRINAGAR: District Developmental Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat chaired a meeting of officers to review power scenario in the district.

DDC reviewed progress and achievements under various Government sponsored schemes including RAPDRP and IPDS & PMDP-Urban.

The meeting was attended by ADC, SDM Noorabad, ACR, JD-planing, Exen PDD, AEE D.H PORA, Kulgam, Qazigund, Yaripora, AEE Project & Monitoring wing Kulgam besides JE’s and other officials of the department.

The meeting informed that under RAPDRP 90 per cent works have been completed and out of 67 transformers 64 have been installed and commissioned.

It was given out that under PMDP- Urban and IPDS district has received a work project to the tune of Rupees 30.9 corers for various works. It was also informed that cabling, augmentation of receiving stations, development of distribution networks at Ashmuji, Frisal, Yaripora, Mohammadpora have been completed under the project.

It was informed that power receiving stations at Ashmuji and Devsar are completed and will be commissioned soon. The DDC impressed upon the officers of to accelerate the pace of work to complete these works within a set time line without compromising the quality.

The DDC also directed the officials to ensure that the consumers of the district get adequate power supply during winters and to follow power cut schedule strictly. He also directed the officers to repair all defunct transformers to avoid any inconvenience to the people.
