District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, on Saturday convened a meeting to review the power scenario in Kulgam town.
Issues related to availability of power supply were discussed in detail with the stakeholders including the members of Auquaf CommitteeKulgam.
The DDC directed the PDD authorities to ensure power supply as per schedule in Kulgam town.
During the meeting, repair of damaged transformers in the town was also discussed and it was impressed upon the officials of PDD to repair them at the earliest and their subsequent installations at required places.
The meeting was informed that after the upgradation of Kulgam main Grid Station to 70 MVA, overall voltage and power scenario has improved significantly.
The DDC was informed that due to disruption in 220KV line at Batote power supply got affected in the areas feeding electricity from Mir Bazar Grid Station. He added that the work is in full swing to restore 220KV supply fully and within next 3 days power supply would be restored.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ACD, DSP headquarters and field functionaries of PDD.
