SRINAGAR: The mortality of the Coronavirus has further dwindled in the last 24 hours as Jammu and Kashmir’s 20 districts reported 12 deaths, one of the lowest so far. In the last 24 hours, the authorities said 774 new infections were recorded.

In the same period, 1965 persons have recovered and resumed routine, the official handout said.

Kashmir lost five citizens and Jammu seven in the last 24 hours.

The trend of infected people outnumbering the fully recovered people continues. In the last 24 hours, as many as 1965 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 15081. The recovered included 698 cases in Jammu and 1267 in Kashmir.

Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 4186 people including 2149 in Kashmir and 2037 in Jammu.

In the last 24 hours, only one person died in Jammu city and three in Srinagar city, the information revealed by the government said.

The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost one citizen each in Ganderbal, and Kupwara.

Apart from a death reported from Jammu city, the region lost three citizens in Poonch and one each in Rajouri and Kathua.

In the last 24 hours, officials said 774 new Covid-19 positives were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir. Of them, Srinagar alone accounted for 149, and Jammu, the other capital of the erstwhile state reported 38 cases.

Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, Kashmir accounts for 545 cases against 229 of the Jammu division.

In Kashmir, the new cases include 38 from Baramulla, 82 from Budgam, 49 from Pulwama, 64 from Kupwara, 57 from Anantnag, 37 from Bandipora, 21 from Ganderbal, 35 from Kulgam, and eight from Shopian.

From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 4, Rajouri 36, Doda 55, Kathua 8, Samba 8, Kishtwar 17, Poonch 30, Ramban 22, and Reasi 8.

Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 15081active cases, which includes 9535 in Kashmir 5546 in Jammu.
