Delegation of J&K State Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineering Associations meets Governor

The members of the delegation apprised Governor regarding prolonged stagnation in the engineering departments and requested for early issuance of an SRO for the “Assured Career Progression Scheme” for engineers which already stands approved by the Government.

Meanwhile, State Joint Action Committee of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Graduate Engineers in a statement said that the delegation apprised the Governor about the long pending issues especially the inordinate delay in issuance of the SRO for the already approved Assured Career Progression Scheme for engineers.

“The delegation apprised the Governor that in spite of the budget announcement and subsequent cabinet approval, the SRO and the necessary rules for the ACP Scheme for engineers have not been issued till date and such an inordinate delay has demoralized the engineering fraternity which, otherwise, is considered as state developmental machinery,” said the statement.

“Besides the other issues like regularization of services of engineers, enhancement in FTA to a reasonable rate, redressal of pay disparity and cadre review etc were also discussed threadbare,” it said.

“The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all the issues will be addressed in a time bound manner. However, the Governor gave specifically the good news to the delegation by agreeing on immediate issuance of relevant SRO for implementation of much delayed Assured Career Progression (ACP) Scheme for the engineers,” it added.

“Consequent upon this, an emergent meeting of the core group of the J&K SJAC was held, wherein the good news of immediate issuance of SRO was circulated among the fraternity members and simultaneously hoped that the governor administration will address also the other issues at an earliest. Those present in the meeting, besides the delegation, include Er Anil Thapa, Er Gopal Sharma, Er Abhineet Gupta, Er Bramjoti Sharma,” said J&K SJAC in a statement.
