Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik on Wednesday was sent to National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) custody till April 22, by Delhi court in connection with an alleged funding case.

Reports said that additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal, during in-chamber proceedings, allowed the NIA to question Malik for 12 days.

An official told news gatherer IANS that central probe agency’s move followed an order of a special NIA court in Jammu giving it go ahead for Malik’s custodial interrogation.

Malik was arrested on Wednesday, a day after he was shifted to Tihar Jail here from Kot Balwal Jail Jammu.

Meanwhile, news agency ANI tweeted; “Kashmiri Separatist leader Yasin Malik formally arrested by NIA in a courtroom in connection with 2017 terror financing and terror conspiracy case. Court sends him on NIA remand till 22nd April.”
