The seven activists of Dukhtaran-e-Millat who were arrested on Sunday at Pinglana in Pulwama district have been sent to Police remand.

The activists were on way to the residence of slain Musavvir Ahmad Wani who was killed by government forces during an encounter to express solidarity with his family. They were later lodged in Women’s Police Station Ram Bagh.

A spokesperson of DeM said that the family members of the arrested activists were called by the Police Station Soura on Monday and were informed that the detained activists were wanted in an FIR under unlawful activities act for participating in the March 23 Youm-e-Pakistan celebrations.

She said that the activists, today afternoon, were taken to a local court that granted them into police custody till Monday.
