Dukhtaran e Millat on Friday paid glorious tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat on their martyrdom anniversaries.

In a statement, the chairperson of DeM, Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi said the souls of the duo attained freedom from the slavery and the imprisonment of government and they made their nation proud.

“They have proved that government cannot eliminate the freedom sentiments of the Kashmiri nation by whatsoever activities,” she said.

She said that both suffered and sacrificed for the sacred cause of Kashmir and tolerated all ups and downs. Their sacrifices have been recorded in the history and would act as a guiding light for the generations to come.

“Observing a day in their honour without any goal is useless. The day should be observed by resolving the issue,”

She said that Kashmiris have laid numerous sacrifices for the cause and there is no way to back out or surrender. “We have to stand firm, surrendering is a trait of a hypocrite,” she said.
