SRINAGAR: Maulana Muhammad Sufyan Qasmi, Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband (Waqf) and member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, is on a brief visit to Kashmir with a delegation of prominent scholars. During this visit, he met with Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, at his residence in Nigeen, a spokesman of Mirwaiz said.
The two leaders engaged in a meaningful discussion regarding the challenges confronting the Muslim world, particularly focusing on the specific issues faced by Muslims in India. Both Maulana Qasmi and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq underscored the importance of unity and collaboration among the community to proactively address these challenges.
In a gesture of goodwill, Maulana Qasmi extended a formal invitation to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to visit Darul Uloom Deoband, aiming to foster closer cooperation between religious scholars and their institutions. The Mirwaiz expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasised the necessity of continued engagement with scholars across the country to find viable solutions to the pressing issues facing the Muslim community.
