SRINAGAR: Nursing students from Desh Bhagat University (DBU) have resumed their protest on Friday, staging a sit-in outside the university gates and obstructing the Mandi Gobindgarh-Nabha road, The Tribune reported.

Despite efforts by Amloh MLA and the administration to persuade them, the students remain steadfast in maintaining the roadblock.

In a related development, the Nursing council has called for the derecognition of Desh Bhagat University due to alleged malpractices.

The students initiated their protest 15 days ago, asserting that the university had exceeded the permissible number of admissions and was now conferring degrees from an unaccredited institution. They continue to await resolution on issues such as a Rs 10 lakh fine and the possibility of transferring to other educational establishments.
