SRINAGAR: One of Kashmir’s foremost graphic designers, Akhter Rasool who was teaching designing at the University of Kashmir’s Media Department is no more. He died of some complications in his breathing, this morning.

Rasool had started his creative career from the Greater Kashmir and then moved to different newspapers before landing at the EMMRC. He knew the art of technology-driven art and hybrid art involving the traditional with the modern digital art, as well. At one point in time, he was also suggesting design improvements to  Kashmir Life.

Details revealed that Akhter was having some problems in his throat and had already undergone a surgical procedure. However, doctors had decided that he would require another procedure. Today, he started facing some problems in his throat and soon he stopped breathing. Family sources said when he complained of breathlessness, he came down and wanted to go to the hospital but before that he collapsed. He was driven to the hospital but much before that he had breathed his last.

Akhter’s death at the peak of his youth has shocked people.

He is survived by his aged parents, a son of three years of age and wife, who is expecting a child.
