Braving incessant rains thousands of people from different areas of Sopore town converged on roads and started marching towards Brath Kalan to offer funeral prayers of Gulzar ahmad Lone.

Gulzar’s body was wrapped in Pakistani flag and people were seen jostling with each other to have a last glimpse of his body.
Gulzar was killed in an encounter with forces in Pazalpora Rafiabad along with his associate Basit Ahmad of Andergam Pattan.
He had joined militant ranks in 2015.
Gulzar’s mother, who was waiting for her son’s body to arrive, was holding a pot full of candies in her hands. Women showered the bodies of militants with candies from the balconies and windows of their houses.
His father Ghulam Mohammad Lone with his eyes moist, addressed the mourners and appealed the people to safeguard scarifies of “martyrs”.
