SRINAGAR: Safoora Shafi, a student of Muslim Educational Institute (MEI) Pampore, faced immense hardship during her 10th class exams after her lone brother passed away due to critical complications.

However, she brought joy to her parents’ faces by achieving a remarkable score of 492 out of 500 marks in the 10th class board examinations, the results of which were declared on Monday.

Safoora, who is now the only child of her parents, expressed that she had been studying diligently from the beginning. However, as the exams were about to commence, her brother fell ill.

She shared, “My brother was on a ventilator. His condition worsened after I had appeared for two papers. A day before my Mathematics paper, a subject in which I am weak, my brother passed away. I was not in a condition to attend the test, but my relatives convinced me to appear for the exam.”

Safoora added, “I was expecting to achieve more than what I have secured, but I am grateful to Almighty Allah for whatever I have accomplished despite facing this tragedy.”

Reflecting on her brother’s absence, Safoora stated, “I would have celebrated my success with my brother, but this is what Almighty has destined. I lost my only brother at such an early stage.”

Expressing gratitude to her parents, teachers, and relatives for their unwavering support, the determined young girl mentioned her desire to succeed in whichever field she chooses in order to bring happiness to her parents.

“I have learned that one must remain courageous in all circumstances and maintain consistency and hard work, as these qualities are crucial for achieving any goal,” Safoora concluded. (KNO)
