Independent lawmaker representing Langate assembly constituency and Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President Engineer Rashid Sunday said trashed the statement of CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that “1975-Shiekh-Indira accord as historic”.
Addressing a public gathering at Seer Hamdan in South Kashmir’s Islamabad, Rashid termed the CM’s statement “an act aimed at pleasing the Delhi Darbar”.
“While as Mufti Sayeed by such statement wants to please his masters as on realistic paradigm 1975 accord diverted the resistance movement of Kashmir and Sheikh Abdullah through it vandalized the plebiscite front and Right to Self Determination movement,” Rashid said.
Rashid asked people of Kashmir to “introspect their conscience” as, “the million dollar question is just after one year of 1975 accord people gifted 58 seats to Sheikh Abdullah and have been repeating the mistakes of same parlances very often.”
He added, “if masses really mean business they will find answer of several question haunting them since 1947 as they have unfortunately supported those who have betrayed them.”
