SRINAGAR: Devotees from various areas of Kashmir valley who had come to participate in the night-long prayers at Chrar-e- Sharief on Saturday alleged that they were not allowed by the police to enter inside the premises of the shrine.
A group of devotees from different areas of Srinagar told Kashmir Life that police had sealed the area day before the celebrations commenced. Media reports suggest the shrine used to witness the devotees in thousands but this time there were around three hundred people who had managed to participate in the prayers.
Another devotee who had come from Srinagar district to participate in the payers told Kashmir Life that as he reached near to the shrine he was told to go back by the police forces.
