SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Friday that an offender had forged a fake WhatsApp profile, using the image of the Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, Rashmi Ranjan Swain as the display picture (DP).
“Legal action has been initiated in accordance with the law. It is advised that, as this is a deceptive profile created with malicious intent, individuals should refrain from replying or responding to this number. Any transactions with this account that result in losses or any other issues should be promptly reported to the nearest Police Station or the Cyber Police Station in Srinagar/Jammu,” police said, in an official release.
