SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has directed health institutions across the Valley to ensure uninterrupted patient care and maintain all essential services amid the prevailing situation.
In a circular, Director Health Services Kashmir directed all Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers and heads of institutions under the Directorate’s administrative control to ensure the presence and appropriate deployment of all available regular staff.
The heads of institutions and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been asked to ensure adequate regular manpower in critical and patient-care areas, including OPD, IPD, emergency services, labour rooms, operation theatres, diagnostics and pharmacies.
The Directorate said duty rosters may be adjusted wherever necessary to maintain adequate manpower and ensure continuity of services. It specifically directed institutions to ensure that patient care and essential health services do not suffer due to the absence of National Health Mission (NHM) personnel.
The circular further directed institutions to immediately report any manpower shortage affecting essential services to the Directorate for appropriate intervention.
“All concerned shall accord top priority to the matter and ensure that healthcare delivery remains uninterrupted and patient interests are duly safeguarded,” the circular stated.
