DHSK inaugurates first round pulse polio immunization at JLNM Hospital, 888067 children immunized on day 1

The first round of the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization  (IPPI) Program drive commenced on Sunday through out Kashmir division.

Director Health Services Kashmir(DHSK) Dr. Saleem ur Rehman inaugurated the Pulse Polio immunization drive by administering Oral Polio vaccine to a baby  at JLNM Hospital Rainawari Srinagar

DHSK on this occasion, informed that a total of 1095083 children are to be immunized during the Ist phase of the IPPI in Kashmir division for which 5770 vaccination booths have been put in place. The total number of supervisors for the division are 1153 with around 23080 personnel including Health workers, ASHA Workers, Anganwari workers and Teachers are vaccinating children throughout the Kashmir Division.

Dr Saleem ur Rehman according to the statement reiterated the fact that inspite of harsh weather conditions our workers are reaching to every child even in far flung areas of Gurez,Machil,Keran,Tangdar  and assured that not even a single child in the age group of 0-5 years would be left un- immunized .

At the end of today’s round in Kashmir division total of 888067 children were immunized the rest will be immunized tomorrow with door to door activities

The Inaugural function was attended by Dr Showkat Loloo STO/AD, Dr Malik Bashir CMO Srinagar,Dr Tajamul Dy CMO  Srinagar, Dr Nadeem Dy MS JLNM , Dr Masarat DIO Srinagar and other staff.
