Residents of Dialgam area where an encounter between militants and forces is underway, Saturday accused that the vehicle carrying an injured to Srinagar was stopped by forces in Bijbehara and they were ruthlessly beaten.

The residents told Kashmir Life that the injured had received bullet in his neck and doctors at district hospital Islamabad referred him to Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment.

However, they alleged that the forces deployed at Bijbehara town some 7 KMs from Islamabad stopped the ambulance and asked the attendants and injured person to come down. They later beat them to pulp, the residents alleged.

Later, after the interference of some locals the vehicle was let go.

However, police officials contested the claims and said that they did not stop any vehicle carrying the injured.

Pertinently, a civilian lady was killed near the encounter site a bullet hit at her back and pierced through her chest.

She was referred to DH Islamabad where she succumbed.

Reports said that several people have suffered injuries near the encounter site. Some of them have received bullet injuries.
