Vice president PDP Sartaj Madani Sunday in a party convention at TRC Kupwara, said that war and even stone pelting is not solution to Kashmir issue, dialogue is the only way out to resolve it.

Addressing a gathering at TRC Kupwara Madni reiterated commitment of his party to carry out a relentless struggle to achieve the party’s target of establishing lasting peace in the state and to create a space for everyone to contribute and thrive in the democratic process with dignity.

“He reiterated party’s resolves to carry forwards late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s policy of peace and reconciliation. “Madni also referred to initiatives taken by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003 and how then Late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed “successfully changed the discourse” in the state.”

Talking with reporters on the sidelines of the convention the Madani, said dialogue is the only solution of vexed Kashmir issue. “It was Mufti Sayeed’s vision that not war and gun is solution but issues should be resolved through dialogue. If any issue has to be resolved, dialogue is the way and we want to take that mission forward,” he added.

According to reports, Madni said that they want to give people of Jammu and Kashmir a dignified and peaceful life and added that formation of coalition with BJP was the prudent decision of the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and in overall benefit of the people of the State. He said taking such decision was the need of the hour and will bear best results in near future.

Minister for Rural Development,Panchayti raj,Law and justice Abdul Haq Khan, while addressing a gathering appealed workers to work for strengthening the party at grassroots level. Underlining the need for maintaining close coordination between administration and party workers, Haq said this will ensure resolving of maximum public issues within limited time frame.
