District Hospital Kishtwar Terminates Sanitation Worker After Arrest in POCSO Case

   

SRINAGAR: District Hospital Kishtwar has terminated the services of a Hospital Development Fund (HDF) sanitation worker with immediate effect following her arrest in connection with a criminal case registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to an order issued by the Medical Superintendent, Zareena Begum, a resident of Bandreena in Kishtwar district, was arrested by Police Station Chatroo on August 30 in connection with FIR No. 34/2026.

The case has been registered under Sections 61(1), 65(2), 90, 91 and 92 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 17 of the POCSO Act, the order said.

The hospital administration said it was formally informed of the arrest by the SHO of Police Station Chatroo through a wireless communication dated August 30.

Citing the serious nature of the allegations and offences involved, the Medical Superintendent said the continuation of the employee in service was incompatible with the discipline, integrity, reputation and functioning of a public health institution.

Her services as an HDF sanitation worker at District Hospital Kishtwar were consequently terminated with immediate effect.
