SRINAGAR: The District Administration Kupwara has constituted a District-Level Committee to ensure fair and transparent distribution of the allocated commercial LPG quota in the district.
According to an order issued by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, the committee will function under his chairmanship following directions from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the order, the committee includes the Additional Deputy Commissioners of Kupwara and Handwara, Additional Superintendents of Police of Kupwara and Handwara, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kupwara, Assistant Director FCS and CA Kupwara as Member Secretary, and District Nodal Officers of Oil Marketing Companies as members.
The committee has been tasked with prioritising supply to critical sectors and taking measures to prevent hoarding, diversion and black marketing of commercial LPG.
The order further states that the District Nodal Officers of Oil Marketing Companies will ensure daily updates on availability and stock position of commercial LPG in the district for necessary action. (KNC)
