Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Thursday conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar City and took stock of the pace of ongoing developmental works. He also inspected FCI and FCS&CA godowns in the city.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director FCS&CA, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Engineer PDD, SSP Srinagar, officers and engineers of PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and other concerned accompanied the Div Com during the visit.

The Div Com inspected multilevel car parking site at Lal chowk and took stock of the work being executed on the project. He inspected the ongoing construction works of Grade Separator near Radio Kashmir, Foot Bridge near GPO, Mehjoor Nagar Bridge, and Rambagh-Jehangir flyover.

He asked the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of works and complete the projects within stipulated time.

While reviewing the pace of dredging work on river Jhelum, the Div Com impressed upon the concerned to ensure work is completed in a time bound manner. He also inspected functioning of Power Receiving Station at Bemina. He asked the concerned to ensure strict adherence to power schedule.

Meanwhile, the Div Com inspected ration godowns of FCI and FSC&CA in Srinagar and received first hand appraisal about stock and supply position of essentials. He was informed that sufficient stocks of ration is available with the FCI and FSC&CA to cater to the public demand.

Later, the Div Com visited Dastageer Sahib Shrine, Khanyar and inspected ongoing works there. He directed the concerned to strictly follow the timeline set for the work.
