Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Saturday inspected progress of work on alternative bridge at Mehjoor Nagar in Srinagar.
The Bailey bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs 72 lakh parallel to the existing Mehjoor Nagar Bridge is aimed to provide succor to the commuters and ease the hardships of people particularly living in Natipora, Mehjoor Nagar and other adjoining areas.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work to ensure that the said bridge is completed within shortest possible time so that and people as well as commuters are benefitted.
He was informed that the bridge would be completed by the end of this month which will also help to reduce the traffic snarls in the area.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Engineer R&B and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
