Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Tuesday held a pledge ceremony for justice, liberty and equality, to celebrate Constitution Day – 2019 also known as Samvidhan Divas.

Div Com Kashmir administers pledge on ‘Constitution Day’

This day is celebrated every year on November 26 in the country. On this day Dr B.R Ambedkar, the author of the Constitution, is remembered. On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. It came into force on January 26, 1950.

On the occasion, Div Com read the message which was repeated by the officials of the Div Com, Kashmir office.

“We, the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic and to secure to all its citizens:

Justice, social, economic and political; Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; Equality of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all, Fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation.

In our constituent assembly this twenty-sixth day of November 1949, do hereby adopt, enact and give to ourselves this constitution,” Div Com read in his pledge.
