According to an official statement, the meeting was attended by DIG Police Rajiv Pandey, Deputy Commissioners, Senior Superintendents of Police, officers from key civil departments, and representatives from Shia community associations.

The Div Com instructed that roads in Shia-majority areas be immediately repaired and macadamised to ensure pothole-free routes for mourning processions. Departments such as PHE and KPDCL were directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity during Muharram days, while water tankers are to be deployed to meet additional demand in affected areas.

He further directed the concerned departments to provide an adequate supply of firewood and ration, and to carry out special sanitation drives around Imambaras and procession routes for better hygiene and facilitation of mourners.

The Health Department was asked to deploy medical teams and ambulances at key locations to offer medical assistance during religious gatherings.

Bidhuri stressed that security agencies must ensure law and order by deploying sufficient personnel, managing crowd control, and coordinating a well-planned traffic route to minimise disruption. He urged all departments to complete necessary preparations in advance to guarantee that Muharram processions and events are held smoothly and peacefully.
