SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Wednesday inaugurated a dedicated parking facility at the Old Secretariat in Srinagar for staff of offices located at the Amar Niwas Complex.
The facility, designed to accommodate around 50 vehicles, aims to address longstanding parking challenges faced by employees of key offices, including the Financial Commissioner’s Office, Divisional Commissioner’s Office, and Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, along with senior officials including the Assistant Commissioner Central, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, and Deputy Director Planning, were present at the event.
The Divisional Commissioner directed police officials to assist in the efficient management of the parking area. He also instructed the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to relocate electric poles from the site to ensure smooth functioning of the facility.
The new parking space is expected to provide significant relief to employees who previously faced difficulties in parking due to space constraints.
