SRINAGAR: Director Handicrafts and Handlooms, Kashmir, Mahmood Ahmad Shah on Thursday expressed his satisfaction regarding sanctioning of 85 cases of Artisans under Credit Card Scheme (CCS) for Artisans and Weavers of Handicrafts and Handlooms Sector by the Designated District Level Selection Committee (DLSC) Srinagar.
The Assistant Director Handicrafts, Srinagar who is Member Secretary of the committee said that the next meeting of DLSC will be held shortly and the department will reach out to each and every artisan who needs financial assistance under the Credit CCS.
The Assistant Director Handicrafts, Srinagar also informed that the Department is organising Awareness Camps across Srinagar district for artisans and the next camp is scheduled to be held on February 13, 2021 (Saturday) at Community Hall Zadibal Srinagar.
Under the CCS scheme, 90% financial assistance in the form of loan from the banks and 10% promoters contribution for setting up of units to a maximum cap of Rs 2.00 lakh is provided to the beneficiaries. The department also provides 7% interest subsidy on the loans advanced by the banks to the registered artisans for a period of five years.
