SRINAGAR: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kupwara, Mir Muhammad Fayaz, on Saturday alleged that doctors posted in his district are managing transfers by citing security concerns as an excuse.
Speaking during the Question Hour, Mir pointed out that medicos posted in Kupwara are using security threats as a pretext to get transferred to Srinagar and other urban areas.
He further demanded a blanket ban on the private practice of doctors, stating that many spend only two to three hours in hospitals before shifting their focus to private clinics.
“They serve only a few hours in hospitals and devote the rest of their time to their private practice,” Mir said while addressing the Assembly. (KNO)
