SRINAGAR: The government on Wednesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh each as relief to the next of kin of the deceased who lost their lives in the Doda bus accident and Rs one Lakh to injured.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha wrote on X. “An ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh each would be given to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the unfortunate bus accident in Assar, Doda. Rs 1 Lakh would be given to those injured.The Administration will provide every possible assistance to affected families, it added.

At least 39 people have been declared dead so far, while 22 injured after a passenger bus fell into a deep gorge in the Assar area of Doda district on Wednesday morning. The process of identifying the dead is still a work in process.
